Saturday’s Canelo Alvarez vs. Gennady Golovkin rematch was a tremendous fight, with the Mexican fighter winning a controversial majority decision. Alvarez knows GGG’s brilliant footwork intimately, and countered by ripping into the body. GGG fought from the outside initially, and appeared to fade to a degree in the fourth round. However, GGG endured the body shots, and appeared to get a second wind, turning things around in the tenth. Canelo too endured, and in the end, two of three judges liked him.
A frustrated GGG walked out before the traditional in-ring interview.

With this fight, both fighters are free from any contractual obligations, and will undoubtedly negotiate a high=pauing rematch
