Nick Diaz’s manager recently announced that the fighter wants to return to the Octagon early in 2021, and that he had done a successful test cut to around 170. Several welterweights in the division indicated they wanted in, including Leon Edwards, Stephen Thompson, and Darren Till, but no one did so as colorfully as “Platinum” Mike Perry.

Everybody talking about the return of Nick Diaz like he looks tough or something,” Perry tweeted. “A skinny weakling like his lil brother, y’all both look like Mickey Gall. Royce Gracie was the only guy ever good at that jitsu style. Florida jiu-jitsu is on top!
They saying you won’t show up for the fight. Your brother already got showed up by the east coast. You ain’t gonna do nothing about that?
I know you don’t train like you use to but I have just been chillin with my girl on Miami Beach and you still don’t want this east coast smoke! I’m a power puncher and those lil’ salt and pepper punches you throw won’t phase me.
I’ll hit you with this right hook and you’ll pull guard and I’ll just ride out the time with ground and pound from top position. If you don’t want to come back we understand, just stop clout chasing.
Who you hanging with? Y’all look soft and your nose looks worse then mine. Your big head is a great target for this right hand, old man. Look like you been riding horses with that stance. If you a gun slinger you shooting a 22.
F*** the Diaz brothers ! East coast b****! I’m not your average internet s*** talker. You can cut a check and I’ll show up if you really wanna do something about it. You won’t tho.”
Diaz is aiming for a top-ranked opponent, which Perry, 7-6 in the league is not. And the UFC has informally suspended Perry pending “professional treatment” so the fight is not likely to happen, but it would be a fun one, truly.
What do you think UG? Would you enjoy Diaz vs. Perry? Who do you want to see more?
