The pool of fighters in each Professional Fighters League division has been reduced to eight. Now there will be one-day, four-man tournaments to reduce the number to two finalists. The finals will be held at the season finale on December 31, with a $1,000,000 prize in each division.

The tournaments for the lightweight and light heavyweight divisions will take place at PFL 9 on October 13 at the Long Beach Arena in Long Beach, California. The show will broadcast live on NBCSN, with preliminary and post-fight coverage on Facebook.
