At UFC on ESPN+ 5 on March 16, 2019 at The O2 Arena in London, Jorge Masvidal knocked out Darren Till in the main, and in the co-main, Leon Edwards won a Split Decision over Gunnar Nelson. After the fight backstage, a meme was born – Edwards and Till had words that escalated with “Gamebred” landing a 3 Piece with Soda.
It’s a great backstory for a fight, but Masvidal instead fought Ben Askren earning the fastest KO in league history, and followed that with a TKO of Nate Diaz for the BMF belt. However, Edwards still wants the fight.
“I’m ranked above [masvidal] and heading for my 9th win in a row, so you know it gets you closer to the title beating me. But keep hiding behind the ‘it does nothing for us’ excuse you and your whole b**** made team keep using cus you know I’ll f*** you up.
“Has everyone realized the whole Street Jesus hardman s*** was all just marketing yet? And Jorge Masvidal is actually a s*** journeyman? Or people still think he’s good?

Edwards is #3 in the UFC welterweight rankings, and Masvidal is #4. Edwards is coming off a unanimous decision over Rafael dos Anjos, while Masvidal lost a short-notice title shot vs. Kamaru Usman via Unanimous Decision.
