In 2018 Brock Lesnar was in negotiations with the WWE, but was unable to come to terms, and rumors surfaced that he was interested in signing with the UFC instead. When Daniel Cormier won the heavyweight belt at UFC 226, Lesnar lumbered into the Octagon to challenge DC. It came to nothing.

It was recently announced that Lesnar was again in negotiations with the WWE, but was unable to come to terms, and rumors surfaced that he was interested in signing with the UFC instead. It sounds familiar, and will almost certainly end the same way.

However, at the DWCS post-fight press conference, UFC president Dana White was asked if the rumors were true, if Lesnar wants to fight in the UFC.

I haven’t talked to Brock, said White. I haven’t talked to Brock in probably a year. I don’t know [if he wants to fight again]. He’s 43 years old and he’s got a lot of money. So I don’t know what his plans are, how his body feels, any of that. Like I said, I haven’t talked to him.

Jon Jones recently relinquished his light heavyweight belt, and is moving up to heavyweight, and called out Lesnar.

If they both want to fight each other, I’m sure it’s a fight that the fans would want to see, said White. It would be a good introduction for Jones into the heavyweight division. Yeah, if they wanted to do it, I would do it. … If [Brock] calls me and he’s interested in fighting, I would obviously consider making that fight.”

What Jones won’t get is the next shot at heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic.

No, he can’t jump over Francis, said White. Francis has earned his spot. He’s been grinding for two years now. He deserves the shot.
