Covington: UFC is ‘prejudiced’ against me because I support Trump
Colby Covington: “I feel like because I’m a Trump supporter and I support Trump, the UFC is being prejudice against me.”

After Colby Covington won his interim title shot against Rafael dos Anjos, it seemed all but certain that he’d have a unification bout with Tyron Woodley. A subsequent fight between Woodley and challenger Darren Till made that a little less certain. Now, with the UFC hinting that Kamaru Usman might be next for a shot, it seems even less likely – even to Covington himself.
To be honest, I don’t know what the chances are that it’ll happen, said Covington. I can’t even put a number on it because there might be prejudicial stuff against me.
Covington cites his political beliefs as a reason that he may not be next in line for Woodley.
I feel like because I’m a Trump supporter and I support Trump, the UFC is being prejudice against me, he said.

And while Dana White may have shown support in favor of the president, Covington points out that the new owners may have different political views than that of him and his boss.
WME-IMG – they’re a bunch of liberals, he said. So, I don’t know, they might try to block me from getting my title shot because they don’t want Trump to get promotion and be marketed through a big title shot with the UFC because that’s not on their political agenda.
With all that in the back of his mind, Covington still thinks there is a chance that they make the match he feels has been a long time coming.
Let’s see if the UFC does it right, he said. Let’s see if they are gonna pass me up for someone behind me in the rankings.
