In the featherweight division, Erick “The Ghostpepper” Gonzalez (8-2) and Andres “The Bullet” Quintana (14-2) will fight to represent US in the ‘COPA COMBATE’. In the co-main event of the evening, a five round bout, Pablo “El Gallo Negro” Sabori (8-4) will face Alejandro “El Gallito” Flores (12-1). The winner of this contest will represent Mexico in the ‘COPA COMBATE’.
Keith Carson (6-5) marked 4.6 pounds up, therefore he will destine part of his salary to his opponent Oscar “Jacare” Suarez (4-1). Same thing with David Duran (6-5), who failed giving the weight by 0.7 pounds, will give a percentage of his fees to Heinrich Wassmer (6-4).
Marcus Sims (1-1), who had replaced Mario Navarro (broken meniscus) was not approved by the California Athletic Commission (CSAC) to fight with Jesse Strader (3-0) for medical reasons.
Also on the main card, there will be a women’s strawweight duel (115 pounds), which will have the undefeated knockout star, Melissa “Super Mely” Martinez (4-0) and Francis “Hit Girl” Hernandez (3-2).
In a spectacular bout, Daniel “D-Rod” Rodriguez (6-1) and Ozzie “Outlaw” Alvarez (8-4), will fight for the first official Super-Lightweight bout (165 lbs) in Combate Americas.
