At a moment in history when MMA is nearly shuttered in Europe due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, BRAVE Combat Federation has held five events in five weeks on the continent, and there is another event on Monday, BRAVE CF 40, which streams live from Stockholm, Sweden, at approximately Noon ET.

Sweden’s undefeated Anton Turkalj fights Austria’s undefeated Ibo “The Last Ottoman” Aslan in the co-main event of BRAVE CF 40, and is ferociously grateful of the opportunity.

‘’BRAVE CF has been very good to me and to the Swedish fighters,” said Turkalj. “There are no events happening in Europe and they have given us an opportunity to show ourselves, to fight, get paid, and keep growing.”

Jesper Gunnarson, president of the Swedish MMA Federation, also praised the way BRAVE Combat Federation has impacted his country’s MMA fighters.

‘’Opportunity to compete is essential for all competitive athletes in our sport,” said Gunnarson. “Right now we struggle a lot with the pandemic and these events have been great opportunities both for our Swedish fighters as well as international ones. I’ve been involved in the organization of events before and I know it is hard work. So I salute anyone that drives a promotion and the sport forward.’’

BRAVE CF 40 post-weigh-ins staredowns were lively, with Turkalj and Aslan both making the 215 catchweight, and then offering a taste of the tussle to come.

Main event fighters Mochamed Machaev and Shoaib Yousaf both made the featherweight limit. The winner likely earns a title shot.

BRAVE CF 40:
Featherweight: Mochamed Machaev vs. Shoaib Yousaf
Catchweight (215 lbs): Anton Turkalj vs. Ibo Aslan
Welterweight: David Jacobsson vs. Corneliu Lascar
Catchweight (158 lbs): Husein Kadimagomaev vs. Sven Fortenbacher
Heavyweight: Zvonimir Kralj vs. Fatih Aktas

The event streams live worldwide on BraveCFTV.com but is geo-blocked due to existing broadcast and streaming deals in the Middle East, North Africa, Philippines, and the USA. The event streams live on FITE.tv at approximately Noon ET.
