The main event of Bellator MMA 214 featured the finals of the heavyweight grand prix pitting Bellator lightheavyweight champion against the iconic Fedor Emelianenko. With all the hype and build up over the last year, the bout ended with the first strike thrown when Ryan Bader clipped Emelianenko with a lead hook and followed it up with a brutal uppercut on the ground that was likely uncessary. Referee Mike Beltran called a stop to the fight at just 0:35 seconds.

With the win Bader became the first ever two division champion in the history of Bellator MMA and the winner of it’s first heavyweight Grand Prix.
