BRAVE 24: London held its official weigh-ins this morning, in Stratford, ahead of historic fight night, tomorrow, at the Copper Box Arena, inside the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. And if the weigh-ins and staredowns are anything to go by, the show will be filled with drama and excitement.

Featherweight title challenger Lucas “Mineiro” Martins was the last to go on the scale and needed the towel and an extra hour to make the 145 lbs (65.8 kg) limit to confirm his challenge of champion Bubba Jenkins, who stepped in at 144.6 lbs (65.6 kg) in his first attempt.

Jenkins showed impatience with his foe, and even went on to say to other fighters in the room that he would face off against himself.

After both men made weight, they stared each other down and the beef, which started when the fight was announced, almost went to a boiling point, as Bubba started trash-talking, and “Mineiro” motioned with his hands, saying the champ “was talking too much.” The beef almost spilled into their cornermen, who also had a heated discussion during the staredown.

Another tense face-off happened between Lightweights Cian Cowley and Maciej Gierszewski. Irishman Cowley weighed in at a perfect 155 lbs (70.3 kg), while “Magic Man”, who’s Polish but fights out of Northern Ireland, and stepped in at 154.8 lbs (70.2 kg). However, unlike Lucas and Bubba, whose discussion didn’t end at the staredowns, both men shook hands after a tense face-off.
