Abdelaziz: 145ers be on notice, Dan Ige is coming
Ali Abdelaziz: “Let me tell you something, people are sleeping on my boy Dan [Ige]. … Top 10, top 15, regardless – he’s giving you fights anywhere.”
When famed MMA manager Ali Abdelaziz takes to the mic, people listen in. Love him or hate him, what he has to say usually gets the MMA world talking.
Perhaps then UFC featherweights will take notice of his recent warning to the division on the Top Turtle MMA Podcast. The message, issued to each and everyone in the division, demanded that people pay attention to a fighter, who isn’t even a client of his Dominance MMA’.
Let me tell you something, people are sleeping on my boy Dan [Ige], Abdelaziz said. He’s a dangerous dude. A lot of people out there need to start giving him respect because he’s coming.
And Ali isn’t just referring to those Ige may fight next. He believes that Ige, who is currently riding a 2-fight UFC win streak, is a problem for everybody.
Top 10, top 15, regardless – he’s giving you fights anywhere, he says
While Ige is not a client of Abdelaziz’s sports management company, he is an employee. Ige helps to handle day to day operations for Ali, which Ali points out, has its ups and downs.
Sometimes I have to be nice to him at work because when I go sparring, he lets it all out on me, he said jokingly. I spar with this boy sometimes; I’ve never been hit as hard – I’ve never been wrestled as hard.
Ige is currently waiting on an announcement for a fight sometime in the next couple months.
