With the exception of two Hero Series events in China, ONE Championship was gated by the COVID-19 global pandemic from ONE Championship 109: King of the Jungle on February 28, 2020, in Kallang, Singapore, to ONE Championship: No Surrender on July 31, 2020, in Bangkok, Thailand. A series of four events scheduled for Singapore were canceled.

Now ONE Chairman Chatri Sityodtong reports on his social network that ONE is back in its home nation of Singapore, before any other international events:

I am thrilled to announce that ONE: Reign of Dynasties this Friday, October 9 will be the first of many international events in Singapore for ONE Championship! Thank you to the Singapore Government for entrusting me and my team to lead the way as the first international production of any kind (in sports, music, and/or entertainment) to return since borders closed earlier this year due to COVID-19. We are ready to ignite the world on fire!!! Stay tuned for big news!

I would like to give a big shoutout to Hua Fung Teh, the Group President of ONE Championship, for his relentless leadership in working with the Singapore Government to make things happen. I would also like to thank everyone on my team for your passion, excellence, and resilience. Impossible is nothing. It is time to make history and unleash our greatness upon the world!

When I decided to move back to Asia from the US, I considered all of the top cities in Asia (Bangkok, Hong Kong, Seoul, Tokyo, etc) as options for my home base. I chose Singapore due to its incredible government, its amazingly warm people, its unbelievable food, its awesome tropical weather, and so much more. Singapore is truly an extraordinary, world-class international metropolis. I will tell you that Singapore is literally the biggest reason why ONE Championship is a billion dollar global phenomenon today and why it is Asia’s largest global sports media property in history. Whether it is my Singaporean teammates at ONE, the international business ecosystem of Singapore, or the Singapore Government, I have been the recipient of so many lucky blessings.

Thank you Singapore for allowing me to live here. My heart is filled with deep love, gratitude, and appreciation for my adopted home. Majulah Singapura! #gratitude
