Three most common mistakes in a street fight!
Master Wong shows 3 Common mistakes made in streets fights. A must for any street fight is to make sure you always cover and have your hand in the right place to defend.
If not, your face will get decorated and ugly. Make sure you learn to cover before you learn to attack.

“You have to make sure your technique is clean and you also may have to build strength as well. Some techniques may not work if you are not strong enough. Many things can be done but it depends on what you understand about fighting range and how good you are.”
In this video, Master Wong talks about those three common mistakes. Quiz yourself. Watch the video, see if you knew them. Or you could scroll down to see the answers.

First, you must keep your hands up. Don’t start swinging like a wild person or you might get KO’ed. Cover, see your opening and take it.
Second mistake is punching at the same range your opponent is at. While you may catch them, it’s still risky. Cover first, then attack.
Lastly, keep your chin down when you punch. When you cover, make sure you keep your eyes open. This will take plenty of practice.
Even if you teach an extremely good technique, there will always be someone to argue. Check this quote out from Master Wong’s Youtube channel:
But that doesn’t stop the UPPERCUT if he decides to throw one, does it? No, that doesn’t work. How about after the first punch is thrown, you step to the outside of his attacking arm, closing the distance and trapping the arm? You can deflect the strike inward toward the body. The angled step and body rotation puts you out of range of his counter, and also allows you to see his attack with the other hand in your peripheral vision. This way, you can use bil sao or tan sao to stop the attack (Usually a hook or cross), while attacking with the other hand.
