The Shaolin Monks have long been associated with their incredible feats of martial artistry, speed and strength which enable them to be able to demonstrate near super human abilities. Ranging from breaking and bending steel with their bodies, suspending themselves on top of sharp spears and crushing the hardest of bricks with their hands and feet and even coming close to be able to run on water.

But 24 year old Shaolin Monk Zhao Rui decides to take things up a notch to see how far he can push his well conditioned body. After demonstrating his use of qi gong to bend an iron bar on his head, Zhao Rui puts proceeds to put his head up against an electric hammer drill.

As his assistant drills away, Zhao Rui screams but holds his ground against the power tool leaving nothing by an abrasion on his temple. In an interview with the Daily Mail he revealed he had injured himself by drilling a bit too far on one occasion.

It was pretty painful but I got better and I learned from the experience and now I can practice pretty often without any problems.

I believe in making my body super tough. Believe it or not, I used to be quite nervous as a youngster but now that I can break stones with my head I have found it has given me lots of self confidence.
