Jo Jeong-ik, aka Yoo Gun, who’s better known by the nickname, ‘Kick Gun’ is widely considered to be one of the world’s leading extreme martial artists, and this jaw-dropping video provides ample evidence to prove it.
The footage is taken from the Red bull’s ‘Kick-It Tournament’ in 2014 and shows ‘Kick Gun’ unleashing an incredible array of gravity-defying kicking techniques that help push the boundaries of what’s possible in the martial arts ‘tricking’ scene.

’Kick Gun’ wowed the audience at the event in Seoul, South Korea, which saw him go up against 15 other competitors from around the world in two separate rounds.
The first round saw the martial artists show off their best tricks, while the second round focused on their ability to break boards in spectacular fashion with their kicks.
The 31 year-old ‘Kick Gun’, who was born in the U.S, but has been living in South Korea since his teens, would go on to win the tournament with some of the most amazing ‘tricking’ moves ever caught on film.
So, how did ‘Kick Gun’ get so damn good at his craft?
Kicking is the only thing I’ve been doing my whole life, he said after his victory. Without this competition I would never win anything, so I feel great.
He’s being rather modest there, as not only is ‘Kick Gun’ an amazing martial artist and ‘tricking’ star, but he’s also an actor and singer who’s appeared in both TV shows and films in South Korea.
However, he first came to the public’s attention when he filmed himself performing his kicks on an arcade punching bag machine. The resulting YouTube videos became viral hits online, which led to him being featured on Korean TV, and he’s since become a star on the international tournament scene.

Given his martial arts skills and acting experience, who knows, perhaps one day we’ll be able to watch ‘Kick Gun’ perform on the big screen as his style seems perfect for Hollywood action movies.
