Pretty much everyone in martial arts knows who Ip Man is; the Wing Chun master who taught Bruce Lee.

The legendary Wing Chun master has been portrayed by several people in cinema over the years; most notably, Donnie Yen in Ip Man 1, 2, 3, and Ip Man 4: The Finale.

The scene in the video below is one of the most famous fight scenes from the Ip Man movies, where Ip Man takes on 10 black belts. Ip figures out that Lin was beaten and killed by the Japanese after an earlier fight. Barely able to contain his rage, Ip demands a match with ten karateka at once – and it’s one of the best fight scenes ever made.

One would think that a martial arts movie where the protagonist is never really in an evenly matched fight would be boring and lack feelings of tension. Yet somehow Ip Man has some of the best and most dramatic fights in a martial arts film in the last few decades.
