Worlds will collide later this summer when undefeated pound for pound great Floyd Mayweather Jr. fights UFC megastar Conor McGregor and not many in the boxing community are giving Conor much of a chance.
Granted, MMA and boxing are two completely different sports but this video of sparring session between a UFC fighter and pro boxer may make you think otherwise as to how Mayweather/McGregor is going to go.
This sparring session is from a while back at the old Powerhouse gym and features UFC welterweight Alan Jouban sparring a professional boxer who was allegedly 9-0 at the time and Alan holds his own in there with him and is quite competitive.

Though, drawing any conclusions from a sparring/training session is always a slippery slope as it’s really not the same as an actual fight. In sparring, you aren’t really trying to finish each other plus you could be working on something specific. Not to mention it could be edited in a certain way to one of the fighter’s benefit.
Where Alan really shines in this sparring session is on the inside, making it ugly and landing some good shots with his dirty boxing. Look for Conor to try to do the same when he fights Floyd later this summer.
Alan Jouban currently has a record of 6-3 in the UFC and though he came up short in his last fight against Conor’s teammate Gunner Nelson, he looked spectacular in his fight before that against Mike ‘Platinum’ Perry. Perry is a very dangerous opponent and Alan put on a striking clinic and dominated the fight from start to finish.
Alan is next expected to fight Niko Price on the Mexico City card on August 5th, 2017.
