In the world of boxing and fight sports in general, we know that punching power is great to have but it is actually speed that kills.

In this video from YouTube channel Boxing Legends TV, we see perhaps the fastest fighter in the world, current WBC featherweight champion Gary Russell Jr.

Though he may not be a household name just yet, that will probably be changing soon judging by the way he fights. He is so fast it is hard to tell what punch he uses to knock his opponents out in some of the clips in the video and it’s not until seeing the slow motion replay that you know which one did it.

The combinations he throws are incredible to see as well. His hands are so fast it is hard to take in as it all just looks like a blur.

Russell’s current record as a professional is 28-1 with 17 of those wins coming by way of knockout. His lone loss is to the highly touted Vasyl Lomachenko and it was by majority decision, meaning 1 judge saw it as a draw.

Russell first won his WBC featherweight title against Jhonny González by fourth round TKO in March of 2015 then subsequently defended his belt against Patrick Hyland and Óscar Escandón, both coming by way of a knockout as well.
