Street boxing is pretty much just like the name suggests. A boxing match that takes place on the street, usually involving boxing rules but sometimes it gets out of hand as there is no officiating most of the time as well as no weight classes and no sanctioning so it is potentially dangerous.

What is most dangerous about it is that in takes place on pavement. As we know from many ‘street fight gone wrong’ videos when someone gets knocked out their head oftentimes smacks off the ground really hard as their bodies are shut off so to speak. Hitting their head off the pavement does a lot more damage than the punch and can even result in death.

In the following YouTube video, we see a street boxing match take place in similar circumstances and there looks to be quite a size disparity between the combatants as well. That’s not the whole story of the fight though as there is a bit of a technique disparity too in favor of the smaller, more slightly built man.

The fight starts out and we can see the smaller man is the much better technician as previously stated. He’s throwing and landing a nice looking jab while his opponent is just looking to brawl.

The smaller man has better defense as well. Keeping his hands up high and chin down low to avoid being knocked out. The smaller man connects with a good right hand that puts his opponent down halfway into the video, it could have been more of a slip though. He gets up and starts brawling again so he must not have been too hurt.

At the one-minute mark we see the smaller man feint with the jab to get his opponent to react and when he does he lands a huge right hand that knocks him down, ending the fight in impressive fashion.
