Over confident tourist takes on former boxer in South Korea.

The guy wearing white gloves is an ex-professional boxer, he gets paid to get beat by regular citizens on the street in South Korea.

The original agreement was that the tourist was meant to try to land punches on the ex-pro and the pro was meant to avoid them. But for some reason the tourist became over confident and told the ex-pro to start throwing punches. So the ex-pro said he would only use his left.

Unfortunately for the tourist, things didn’t go to plan when he found himself on his back after the pro boxer landed an exquisite left hook.

The pro boxer on the way up to the sensational knockout taunted the amateur guy by tapping himself on the chin as if to say ‘go on, knock me out’.

Dementia pugilistica (DP) is a type of chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a neurodegenerative disease with features of dementia. DP may affect amateur or professional boxers, wrestlers as well as athletes in other sports who suffer concussions.

The condition is caused by repeated concussive and subconcussive blows (blows that are below the threshold of force necessary to cause concussion), or both. Because of the concern that boxing may cause DP, there is a movement among medical professionals to ban the sport.

The condition, which occurs in athletes having suffered repetitive blows to the head, manifests as dementia, or declining mental ability, problems with memory, and Parkinsonism, or tremors and lack of coordination.

It can also cause speech problems and an unsteady gait. Patients with DP may be prone to inappropriate or explosive behavior and may display pathological jealousy or paranoia.

Individuals displaying these symptoms also can be characterized as “punchy”, another term for a person suffering from DP.
