After finally making it to the Ultimate Fighting Championship through the Ultimate Fighter, Kimbo Slice would score an even record of 1-1, with Matt Mitrione giving Kimbo Slice his walking papers with a fairly one sided TKO win at UFC 113.
Now taking a hiatus from the world of mixed martial arts, Kimbo announced with his former EliteXC promoter Gary Shaw he would be entering the squared circle of professional boxing.

Kimbo Slice is here to make a statement, and as he just told me, he’s got a plan. He ain’t here to be a sideshow. He’s here to knock people out, take names and build properly towards…hopefully, a heavyweight championship run. Gary Shaw remarked when talking about his second chance of build up the former street fighter.
Taking the route of building Kimbo up to a world class boxer very seriously, Shaw managed to book Kimbo against a myriad of talent with Shaw booking Kimbo’s second bout against cruiser weight Tay Bledsoe who held a record of 2 wins and 3 losses.
Coming out swinging heavy leather, Kimbo lands hard shots on his professional opponent and eventually connects with a strong right hook face planting his opponent and giving him the knockout win. This win bumped Kimbo to 2-0.
