World’s will collide later this summer when undefeated pound for pound great Floyd Mayweather Jr. fights UFC superstar Conor McGregor is what will surely be one of the biggest fights of all time.
In this video from martial arts YouTube channel ‘fightTIPS’, we see some of Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s signature moves that will surely come into play come August 26th.
As the video points out, Mayweather is a defensive genius with many different tricks and tips but for the sake of brevity, the video is only going to focus on 3.
The first move the video covers is Floyd’s pivot hook. This was the same hook he used to knock out Ricky Hatton who, like Floyd, was undefeated himself going into their fight at 43-0. Floyd put a stop to that though with this tricky, short hook that ended Hatton’s night as well as his unbeaten streak.

The next signature move covered is Floyd’s use of the Philly shell defensive style. This defensive style utilizes shoulder rolls to protect and deflect shots on one side of your head as well as your arm to block/parry shots on the other side. This style is great for countering which Floyd is great at and while Floyd is certainly an expert with this style, there still seems to be some openings and some risk. Will McGregor be able to get through Floyd’s Philly shell and land a big shot? We shall see come August 26th.
Check out the video below to find out Mayweather’s third signature move.
