Tommy Hearns had to auction off his possessions to pay a tax debt. Joe Frazier died living with his girlfriend in an apartment, supported by the breakfast place he had bought her. Leon Spinks works as a janitor at a YMCA in Nebraska. Riddick Bowe sells autographed merchandise at flea markets. Evander Holyfield auctioned off his prize possessions. Mike Tyson tore through $400,000,000 and ended up filing for bankruptcy.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. is different.
Rather than be exploited by a promoter, FMJ put on the show himself, hiring a promoter, and taking a piece of everything. He ended up being the highest paid athlete in history. He also promotes concerts and has several other business interests
Now the greatest boxer of his generation has announced his intention to start another new business outside the combat sports space.

Mayweather is notorious for spending money in strip clubs. So in that sense, it makes sense that he might want to start spending the money in his own establishment.
Here is FMJ literally throwing $100,000 away in a Miami strip club.

TMZ reported in 2014 that Las Vegas vice police were asking local strip clubs to not allow Mayweather and his entourage into their establishment.
The police were reportedly telling the strip clubs that Floyd and his friends had run roughshod in various clubs, manhandling the girls.
“[Floyd] goes in and pulls a ‘Do you know who I am’ and does inappropriate things with some of the women,” said one law enforcement source.
However, sources close to Floyd told TMZ that the boxer is adamant he had never done anything wrong at a strip club. Several strip club mangers offered the same account to TMZ, saying they will not heed the warnings, because they’ve never had a problem with the boxer.
Still, some of the comments on Instagram were scathing.
