Floyd Mayweather Jr is back at it, bad mouthing the sport of MMA. Are you surprised? We’re not. The undefeated boxing world champion is shown in this interview talking about boxing being great and MMA being for beer drinkers. Definitely worth a watch!
“It takes true skills to be in the sport of boxing. Mixed Martial Arts is for beer drinkers. Boxing is for everybody. I mean, you can’t take my shoes off and my shirt off and just throw me in a cage. You do that with animals. You can’t do that with humans.”
“I don’t know no fighter in MMA that has generated a total revenue in two fights, which only lasted one hour, of 250 million dollars. They’re not even on my level at all. Not even on my level.
You must be running 8 or 9 miles for boxing. You must be able to box, not 5 rounds, but 12. and it used to be 15. Now they got rounds. Now they got judges. Now they got cutmen.
So once again, MMA stole boxing’s whole blueprint and tried to run with it. Like I said before, in boxing, we know who’s dominating. Black fighters and Hispanic fighters are dominating in this sport. And this is not a racial statement but there are no white fighters in boxing who are dominating, so they had to go to something else and start something new.”

He’d get murdered in the UFC, White said of Mayweather. You go to a knife fight with a guy and the other guy has guns and chains and crowbars. There’s so many more weapons in the UFC then there are in boxing. So it makes no sense.
Boxing is a martial art and combat sport in which two people throw punches at each other, usually with gloved hands. Historically, the goals have been to weaken and knock down the opponent.
Mixed martial arts (MMA) is a full-contact combat sport that allows the use of both striking and grappling techniques, both standing and on the ground, from a variety of other combat sports and martial arts. Various mixed-style contests took place throughout Europe, Japan and the Pacific Rim during the early 1900s.
