Worlds will soon collide on August 26th when undefeated pound for pound great Floyd Mayweather Jr. takes on UFC megastar Conor McGregor in what will surely be one of the biggest boxing matches of all time.
In this video, we see some of Mayweather’s worst moments in the ring and it makes you kind of wonder if Conor can get to him like we see his opponents do here in this video.
While Mayweather is clearly a defensive genius, perhaps even the greatest defensive boxer of all time, he still can be hit and has been hit albeit very rarely in his illustrious career.
In fight sports, make no mistake, even the greatest, slickest boxers will be hit but the very few times Mayweather has been rocked in his career he has shown a good chin which has to be taken into account and respected.

Most recently, as seen in the video, it was his fight against another legend of the sport, Shane Mosley, that saw Mayweather get rocked and perhaps the hardest punch that Mayweather ever took in his career which commentator Jim Lampley makes note of.
Then, shortly after in that very same round, he gets rocked again from another big right hand that hurts Mayweather perhaps even more than the first one. Still, though, despite the big shots, Mayweather was able to survive and recover and still win the fight.
Another recent example seen in the video was his first fight against Marcos Maidana. Maidana had a good strategy in that fight in making it an ugly, in a close battle but outside of the one late shot, he didn’t really land that many clean shots like Mosley did in their fight.

The common factor in all of these examples of Mayweather’s worst moments is Mayweather’s ability to stay calm and survive. In all of these instances, Mayweather actually shows quite a bit of toughness which he seldom gets credit for.
Is Conor McGregor going to be able to hurt Mayweather like these guys did? We shall see next Saturday.
