Ending a fight by submission is always a cause for celebration, except when it happens in the middle of a boxing match!
This amateur boxing bout is believed to have taken place at an event in Russia, and the footage begins with the fighter in the red shorts on the attack, flooring his opponent with a hard left hook that leaves him lying dazed on the canvas.
Blue manages to pick himself back up and continues on with the fight, but whether he’s just not thinking clearly after the knockdown, or he’s just hell-bent on getting revenge at any cost, he goes on to do something that no-one could have seen coming.

Initially at looks as if Blue is just going to continue boxing, but suddenly he closes the distance and clinches up with his opponent, then completely loses the plot by executing a trip takedown to bring Red to the canvas.
Before the referee can reach him, Blue lands a punch and then goes for an armbar submission, fully extending his opponents limb as the official rushes in to break them up.
Needless to say, the fight was then waved off, with Blue being disqualified for his illegal techniques, and presumably he won’t be making an appearance in the boxing ring again any time soon.
In recent years fans have often wondered how a boxer would fare against a mixed martial artist, particularly since boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr voiced his interest in taking on MMA superstar Conor McGregor in the ring recently.
That fight almost certainly won’t happen, according to UFC President Dana White, but he has pitted a legendary boxer and martial artist against each other in the Octagon before.
In the co-main event of UFC 118 back in 2010, former UFC light-heavyweight and heavyweight champion Randy Couture took on former multiple-time boxing champion James Toney in an MMA fight.
Toney had been the one calling for the fight in the first place, claiming that he could beat anyone the UFC put him up against, but Couture quickly made him eat his words, taking him down and submitting him with an arm triangle choke midway through the first round.

Wisely, Mayweather only appears to be interested in fighting McGregor in a boxing bout though, and if he’s smart, the Irishman wouldn’t agree to that, even in the highly unlikely event that they could put it together, as the fight would almost certainly go just as badly for ‘The Notorious’ as Toney’s attempt at MMA did.
