Move over Fabricio Werdum and Edmund Tarverdyan, we have a new contender for the ‘Fighter VS Corner Man’ of the year award.
On October 29th former two division world champion Juan Manual Lopez faced off against former WBO champion Wilfredo Jasquez Jr at the Roberto Clemente Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
With their bout almost going the distance, Juan Manuel Lopez managed to author a stoppage late in the third round after administering an unanswered barrage of punches on Wilfredo Jasquez Jr that dropped him to the mat.
Immediately after the victory though Juan Manuel Lopez engaged in another fight with one of Wilfredo’s coaches which saw both brawl wildly with the coach landing a nice left hook on Manuel before the fight was broken up by security and officials.
Reasons for the skirmish to break out stem from a heated pre fight press conference which almost resulted in violence due to a war of words between the two camps.

Despite all of this madness Juan Manual and Wildredo eventually hugged it out and put the tension behind them.
