It was mayhem in Munich when Austrian of Albanian descent cruiserweight boxer Astrit ‘The Tiger’ Klimenta borrowed a page from the book of Tyson.

Klimenta was losing the fight to Serbian Andrej Pesic, and tried a series of fouls to harm his opponent. Finally Klimenta went animal, and tried to bite off a piece of Pesic. Pesic was left bleeding, and the referee stopped the contest and disqualified the Zombie wannabe Klimenta.

However, that was not the end of it.

Pesic’s trainer, German Alexander Petkovic, wasn’t having it, and stormed into the ring. Klimenta remained out of control, and despite being held back by the ref, tried to hit the trainer too.

However, the trainer is not a tiny, wizened figure like Eddie Futch. When he’s not cornering, Petkovic, 35, is 50-8, at heavyweight. The trainer/fighter feinted twice with a right, and landed a short, bare-fisted left hook square on ‘Chompy’ Klimenta’s jaw, staggering him.

He was expecting a right,” said the trainer. “But I took a step back and hit him with a left hook to the chin.”

Afterwards, Klimenta offered an explanation of sorts, via Facebook.

“It’s a scandal or not, I do not know,” he wrote. “But I can say that they were not acting in a sportive manner even before the fight. They made harsh racist insulting against me and my nation and I could not be stright on the ring, I did not felt well in psychological aspect, although I tried to stick to the maximum, but I did not and this can not be changed . But, on the other hand I could not let they to continue insulting me and my nation.”

Easy, Tiger.
