Nicknamed ‘The Great Wall’, Taishan Dong is a HUMONGOUS 7-foot tall boxer from China who has a current undefeated professional record of 6-0. Is he really the next BIG thing in heavyweight boxing though?
He was making a lot of noise and had a lot of hype behind him a couple of years ago but he hasn’t fought in almost two years which is a very long time for a boxer who’s just starting out a professional career.
Dong was signed with Golden Boy Promotions for a while but they allegedly parted ways and apparently, Dong moved back to his native China.

For such a tall guy he really does have an impressive physique that we see him working on in this video. Though it looks like he’s doing more of a bodybuilder type of workout which is kind of strange for a boxer. Barbell curls aren’t really going to help you in the ring and having ginormous arms may actually slow you down in the boxing ring.
Nonetheless, he’s had a couple of impressive performances so far in his career and even has a win over fellow big man Bob Sapp in kickboxing that launched his fighting career.
The verdict is still out on whether or not Dong is the real deal or if he’s just hype but he would sure be an interesting addition to the heavyweight division if he can string a few good wins together.
