He may have retired undefeated, but he didn’t make it through his career unscathed!
If you are going to compete in forty-nine professional boxing bouts over a span of twenty years against the best boxers in the world, the odds of eventually getting knocked out are as seemingly insurmountable as they come but, somehow Floyd Mayweather managed to do that and more.
Even though he is undefeated and arguably the best technical boxer of all-time, that doesn’t make him completely immune from getting rocked. The list below highlights the five times in his professional boxing career that we have seen him get rocked!
Could Conor McGregor add a number six to this list? Or would it just be an easy fiftieth victory for Money? Let us know what you think in the comments, and don’t forget to check out the video with all the action on the last page!
5) Marcos Maidana
-May 3, 2014
Mayweather may have been saved by the bell in this classic bout against Marcos Maidana. When attempting to counter Maidana’s jab, Mayweather slipped his head off to the side to throw his right hand, but was met by Maidana’s own right hand instead. The bell rung right after, allowing Mayweather to regather his senses before continuing on in the next round in a fight that he would eventually win.

4) Genaro Hernandez
-October 3, 1998
In the midst of a wild exchange between these two fighters Mayweather goes down, but it is hard to tell if it is from a punch or just the pain of breaking his own hand. This knockdown happened nearly two decades ago, which goes to show you how hard you have to look to find flaws in the performances of Mayweather. Mayweather then continued on to pick up the win, like in all of his professional bouts (I’ll quit reminding you.)

3) Zab Judah
-April 8, 2006
Zab Judah was able to counter and land a right check hook flush on Mayweather as he attempted a straight right of his own. Then later in the fight Zab was again able to land clean, but this time with a straight left. Although Judah did not win the fight, he should take pride in the little bits of success he found against the incredibly elusive Mayweather.

2) Shane Mosley
-May 1, 2010
You can call Floyd all kinds of adjectives, but one thing that you cannot call him is heartless. Anytime he has faced adversity in the ring, he has faced it head on and that is exactly what he did the night that boxing star Shane Mosley put him on Queer street. Although Mosley was able to land numerous right hands, he was unable to finish the job like everyone of Floyd’s opponents.

1) DeMarcus Corley
-May 22, 2004
Just at the start of round four commentators were discussing how they had the fight scored, giving it to Mayweather 30-27 for the first three rounds, but right on cue Corley answered back in what almost seemed like a response to the conversation taking place on the broadcast. Landing a right hook as the two exchanged, Corley sent Mayweather stumbling back to the ropes where he then proceeded to attack.
