Muhammad Ali may have passed away at the young age of 74 years old, but his memory will always live on. He’ll live on as one of the greatest boxers of all time and as one having a personality that has transcended the sport. Many know him as the The Greatest heavyweight boxer of all-time, but it was also his charismatic persona that has made him an icon throughout the globe.

5) Ali demonstrates incredible footwork on television
ABC sportscaster Howard Cosell and Muhammad Ali had a friendship that lasted for decades. On ABC television, the two met and Ali showed Cosell the basics of the boxing stance and beyond. He began to dazzle the crowd with his fancy footwork and landed a quick right cross on Cosell.


4) Ali exhibits unbelievable head movement
In his 28th bout and defense of his WBC, The Ring & Lineal heavyweight titles, Ali had exhibited some of the most unbelievable head movement. In this GIF, we see Ali dodged a jab, jab, cross combination effortlessly Ernie Terrell. Ali taunted Terrell throughout the whole fight and won a lopsided 15 round decision retaining his titles.


3) Ali shadow spars with Sylvester Stallone
In 1977, Sylvester Stallone was up on stage at the Oscars presenting the award for best supporting actress. Ali crept up behind him and said “You stole my script. I’m the Apollo Creed.” The squared off and began to throw some jabs and punches at each other.


2) Ali tries to teach Michael Jackson how to box
When Muhammad Ali was a guest on The Jackson 5 television show, Michael Jackson had Ali if he had what it took to float like a butterfly and sting like a bee. Jackson continued to demonstrate his own fancy footwork, but as he completed his pirouette Ali said that he only had the butterfly float down.


1) Ali dodges 21 punches in 10 seconds
During a televised boxing match against Michael Dokes, Muhammad Ali had allowed himself to be backed up into a corner. Dokes tried his best to land a punch on the legend, but with a taunting face, Ali dodged all of the punches thrown at him. A total of 21 punches were thrown in the sequence.
